 Dikili
is the town of the festivals and peace. With the Peace, Democracy and Labor
Fests organized traditionally every summer, Dikili gives its peace messages
to the world. Dikili is mentioned as the city of peace in Turkey regarding
its relations and friendship with the neighbor Greek island Midilli (Lesvos)
on the other coast. In addition, Dikili hosts countless intellectuals and
artists and also welcomes the Greek people every year to its summer
festivals...
The monument of the memory of the former Sweden president Olof Palme, known
for his contributions to peace all over the world, has also become the
symbol of the peace in Dikili.
Dikili is the center of culture and art activities especially in summer
times. The bright light of Dikili reflects to the world with its fests,
symposiums and countless cultural and art activities that are being
organized during the year with the intense participation of the Dikili
folks.
